Here we go 🙂
Enjoyable 13h flight thanks to Qatar Airways. Good food, great wine, lots of pillows and plenty of movies& video games 🙂
Papam. Spalam. Pupam. Dormitam.
Bangkok by night
Bangkok malls and roads – impressive but the discrepancy between the wealth in the mall areas and the rest of the quarters is big
Budist monks are highly respected and privileged
which is why they always get priority boarding and priority seat
If you skip the mall and open spaces area, a normal neighborhood has small and crowded streets were people, bikes and cats live together. Thailand is a poor country and most Thai people live on less than 50 dollars a month.
Everywhere on the street you could see young coconuts being sold for 25 bath (0.62 eur). The milk inside was transparent, sweet, rich in potassium. A great street made cocktail. Here is a street vendor chopping off the head of the coconut so he can serve it to us with a straw.
Here is how a young girl drinks a young coconut and a young man snaps the picture 🙂
The best food you can find is on the streets, right there in the heat, car gases and unwashed hands. Try it, if you are there.
Sheakes? Omelete? :))
Excuse me, do you have some napkins?
Yes, over there.
Tuk Tuk is a cute way of getting around in the city, especially if you are a tourist.
But try it just for fun and then switch to normal taxi (with meter) to get air conditioning and a much nicer fare.
The street is always trying to sell you something
Wonderful experience we had enjoying Thai Massage – a type of massage in Thai style that involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai massage.
I really liked the school uniform that Thai young people were wearing. What I liked most is that all the students that I saw, in all the areas, had spotless uniforms almost like they just got dressed 2 minutes before.
Hop on the boat darling and let’s go shopping
Bangkok – Temple
We weren’t much into temples so you won’t see much of that. In Bangkok our feeling was that Temples are just used to attract tourists and sell souvenirs.
In rural areas however, we did feel that the temple/the church is a more sacred place.
The beautiful room at Tao Garden Health resort, in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, in the rainforest
Peak and Boo
Tai Chi student
Tao Garden has a Tai Chi Field where they saw the energy of the Earth is most present and can be felt during Tai Chi sessions
The wild fauna of Tao Garden consists of 1 lazy Mihai Cimpoesu resting his butt
Did you know that banana trees are not “trees” but herbs? They are the largest herbs in the world.
